This medication is used to improve the appearance of the skin by reducing fine lines and wrinkles and to make rough facial skin feel smoother . It reduces roughness and improves coloration. This can also be used to treat acne.
How to use:
- This medication is for use on the face as directed, usually once a day at bedtime.
- You should wash your face with water. Pat the skin dry with a towel.
- Let your face dry for 10-15 minutes before applying Renova.
- Apply a pea-size amount of cream using just enough to cover your entire face lightly
- Do not use renova more often than suggested by your doctor or in large amount.
Side effects like mild redness or stinging, burning, itching, skin scaling, peeling and dry skin, swelling of the skin may occur in the first several weeks as your body adjusts to the medication. Contact with your doctor if any of these side effects occur.
Avoid contact of this medication with your eyes, nostrils and mouth. Wash your hands after use. It makes the skin more sensitive to sun light. Limit sun exposure and avoid sun lamps. Use a sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Tell your doctor if you have any pre-existing skin disorders or if you have any allergies. Renova should not be used if you are pregnant.
Do not use RENOVA
- if the patient is sunburned or if the patient has eczema or other chronic skin conditions.
- if the patient is inherently sensitive to sunlight.
- if the patient is also taking drugs known to be photosensitizers (e.g., thiazides, tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones, phenothiazines, sulfonamides) because of the possibility of augmented phototoxicity.
With discontinuation of RENOVA therapy, a majority of patients will lose most mitigating effects of RENOVA on fine wrinkles, mottled hyperpigmentation, and tactile roughness of facial skin.
Store Renova at room temperature away from moisture and heat. The gel formulations of Rnova are flammable, keep them away from open flame. Do not freeze.
